What You’ll See

Walk the grounds of one of southwestern Virginia’s oldest Lutheran congregations. The approximately six-acre site includes:

  • The historic 1854 church building, a white clapboard structure with original Greek Doric piers and German-style roof framing
  • The cemetery with over 1,200 headstones spanning the 1700s to the present day, including approximately thirty carved by Laurence Krone
  • The preserved Flohr House, the log home of founding pastor Georg Daniel Flohr

Annual Homecoming Service

Each year, the congregation gathers for a Homecoming service at Old St. John. Check the News page for upcoming dates and details.
